DAY 1: PAEDIATRIC EMERGENCIES & LIFE SUPPORT

  • Introduction & Legal Requirements

  • Incident & Casualty Assessment

  • Unresponsive Infant & Child

  • Paediatric CPR (including AED considerations for children)

  • Managing Paediatric Choking

  • Managing Breathing Difficulties in Children, including

    • Asthma

    • Anaphylaxis (auto-injectors: EpiPen, Jext, Emerade)

    • Hyperventilation vs panic attacks

  • Bleeding & Shock

DAY 2: INJURY MANAGEMENT & SECONDARY SURVEY

  • Secondary Survey

  • Injuries & Trauma

  • Childhood Medical Conditions, including:

    • Febrile seizures

    • Epilepsy

    • Meningitis

    • Diabetic emergencies

    • Croup

    • Sepsis

  • Environmental & Everyday Hazards, such as:

    • Poisoning from common household items

    • Drowning

    • Heat/cold emergencies

    • Electric shock

    • Allergic reactions

  • Practical Assessments

  • Course Completion

    • Written assessment

    • Certification (valid 3 years)

    • Post-course refresher advice

The Paediatric First Aid course is a 2-day training course which includes:

  • instructor-led training supported by digital course materials

  • realistic scenario-based practice sessions
